Hello, what do you guys think my chances are at Ohio State (Main Campus)?

White

In-State

3.76 Weighted GPA

26 ACT

3 AP Classes in High School

3 Honors Classes in High School

100 Hour Internship Involved with Business

Tons of Community Service

Taken a Few Clubs with the School

Other Various Activities

Class Does Not Rank

Thanks! Just applied. What do you think?

Deferred would be my guess. The two most important things are ACT/SAT and class rank. Your ACT is on the weak side, and your high school doesn’t rank to counter it.

Ultimately, with any deferred applicant, too many variables are in play as to guess what the final decision might be. With each passing year there are more and more 26-27 ACT students denied. OTOH, there still are quite a few accepted, so definitely apply. Just be realistic and have a safety school. If you’re in-state, that 26 ACT will get you a little bit of merit aid at Miami and a lot of merit aid at OU, so you should think about applying to one of those also.

50% of OSU’s admits don’t break 27 on the ACT. I’m sure you’ll be fine.

Any more opinions for the stats stated here?

3.64 Unweighted GPA

Taken 4 School Clubs Throughout High School

Various Other Activities

Both Parents went and graduated from OSU

1 Teacher Recommendation, 1 Counselor Recommendation

Thanks! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Any other opinions?

Your act is kinda low but you have incredible extracurriculars. To be honest I think you’ll get in. Another thing going for you is the rigor of your courses which should help. Are you from ohio?

Id say you’re in easily and the fact that both your parents are graduates from OSU i think will help you

Just following up on MarcusOSU’s post–I saw on the OSU website that the ACT interquartile range for the incoming class was 27-31. That would mean that < 25% of admits didn’t break 27.
