I am interested in Nursing or Pre med and am curious what my chances of admission are into nursing programs like the University of Delaware which I hear is quite selective
How much preparation did you do for the SAT? Getting this score up would be helpful.
A lot of students who are aiming for premed will be starting with unweighted 3.9 or 4.0 GPAs from high school. Half of all students who start out premed end up doing something else, and half of the students who do complete premed requirements and apply to medical school don’t get in anywhere.
Agree, I would study hard and work to improve your SAT and/or study for and try the ACT.
Thank you. However my focus is more in nursing than pre med. My parents prefer pre med because my father is very old school and doesn’t like the idea of having a son who is a nurse
Nursing programs are quite competitive and I think you would be wise to work to improve your standardized testing if you want a direct entry nursing program. Your standardized testing is below the 25% percentile for UDelaware – per the website “The two-year average, mid-50% of admitted students for general admissions is between 1220-1370 SAT” http://www.udel.edu/apply/undergraduate-admissions/first-year-students/admissions-requirements/
