Hello, I am an American student of French and Brazilian descent (I have citizenship in all three countries) and am just wondering if I can get into McGill…
Here are my stats:
SAT: 1480
ACT: 32
GPA: 3.87 (that’s what shows on my transcript)
AP Scores: 4,4,5 (world history, us history, English Lang and comp respectively)
Pretty close to a safety, if that is your unweighted GPA.
If you are a citizen of France, the pricing for McGill will be really good also. You will be charged the Canadian rate:

@TomSrOfBoston it isn’t my weighted I don’t think
My u weighted is around a 3.6
“My u weighted is around a 3.6”
I think that it is worth applying but I would have a backup.
All of the universities in Quebec give a good break on tuition for citizens of France (and the fact that you have two other citizenships shouldn’t matter). If your French is anything less than perfect, then you would need to focus on the English language universities, which in Quebec are McGill, Concordia (a large university just up the street from McGill), and Bishop’s (a small school just outside of Sherbrooke).
Also it would depend on which Faculty you are applying to. On track for Arts for sure, closer to minima for some of the others.
@SwimmingDad I am planning on applying for philosophy
@steponsani You are in great shape then. Faculty of Arts is a B+ average, B+ in English, and a 28 ACT (based on last year’s minima).
@SwimmingDad I took the SAT math II and got a 660 and took french and got a 780. do I send me math score with tommy SAT I or not bother and just send my 32 ACT
@steponsani Definitely send the ACT and not the SAT I. I don’t think they require the SAT II for Arts; you should double check with Admissions. (They are super friendly. Best of luck!)
If the ACT is sent there is no SAT II requirement. If only the SAT I is sent then 2 SAT II’s are required for all majors.
@TomSrOfBoston so if I send the act and the sat, I don’t need subject tests
