Chances of an intl

i’m a student applying to wharton from istanbul, turkey (US citizen) from a pretty small international school. I’m top of the class (no schl rank tho) with 97% gpa and am predicted about a 39/42 for the IB (including a 5 for french A2 which apparently only 250 ppl take worldwide). mid-range SAT scores (630V 660M 730W / IIC-660 French-680). My essay was kinda personal and i was going through a really rough time when i wrote it so i’d call it above-average. great recs from what i hear.

Varsity team captain for soccer 2 years running, lead roles in plays and many leadership activities (MUN coordinator/participant, Student Council Vice- Pres, charity fundraisers, Part of a team that created a one of a kind EU conference-simulation design that’s being reworked right now to be submitted to the EU ministry of education- SOCRATES)

took advanced intro to Comp Sci and algroithms and data structures courses at Harvard summer school with B+ (i got the recommendation of the asst dean who was my professor) . Internship last summer at a start-up company (minor thing tho.)

I’ve lived in four countries and am proficient in 5 languages - english, turkish, dutch, german, french.

how much of an advantage does my intl./ US citizen status give me when it comes to wharton given that my SAT scores are kinda low for it? Thnx guys.

no reply huh?

even tho ur international, it wont cover ur not-so-great SAT scores... =</p>

i think ur math score is a prob
but 5 languages - english, turkish, dutch, german, french. is quite a WOW

As an international, don't worry about SAT's - I've seen some students with scores lower than yours get in. Not having english as your first language really does put you at a disadvantage.

The Harvard professor recommendation along with the language proficiencies are a good thing.

Assuming you are not applying for financial aid, you have a good chance.

Are you by any chance going to Robert's College?

No... i'm in a smaller international school on the outskirts of town (Robert College couldn't take me because of issues with the Ministry of Education and my dual citizenship) Worked out better for me though in a sense...Most of my competition will prbly be from there though and it'll pbly be tough to beat (with 16 million ppl in the city you're bound to get several geniuses all over the place at all these big schools) It seems like there're a lot of applicants this year since i still haven't been called for an interview.
