what about some bio or med related internships?

sorry, of course, im interested in medicine/biology/biotech/biomed engineering...etc...

If you want an internship, they aren't too hard to find. (of course, it depends on whether you want to be paid or not). After being rejected from several paid summer jobs I applied to (I guess May was too late to start looking), as well as some paid internships, I looked around for work experience on my own. Try googling small companies in your field of interest. If you want science/research, look around for smaller research companies or labs that may need help. I have a friend who got a 40 hour per week paid computer job through a friend whose parent worked for an aeronautics company. Look for connections you have and then e-mail and call around, asking if you can help out. I looked on craigslist for internships and nonprofits dealing in Eastern Europe. Now I have a part time volunteer internship in a job field that I'm interested in. It's not glamorous and I'm not getting paid, but I enjoy seeing how a nonprofit is run (and in our case started). Plus, we work on reforming the Russian orphanage system, pretty cool, huh? I'm mostly doing menial tasks, but I've met some cool people and am getting office experience. Plus, my work experience has gotten me small paid tasks in nonprofit work on the side,so not all hope of moneymaking has been lost for me this summer! BTW, I've heard stories similar to mine where kids have gotten paid. Also, if you volunteer one year, you may get job offers for the next. So get out there. You don't need awesome stats or anything to get a good internship or job. There is so much on this site revolving around "prestige", but really, don't sweat it. You can make a great experience for yourself if you try!
