chances of appeal working after getting rescinded?

I dropped an important class in the Spring and got rescinded from UCLA. is there any way I can appeal? what are the chances of this? I am taking the class in the Summer anyway...

What class was it? Was it for your major? Is your major impacted?

my major isnt impacted…but the class was for my major. im enrolled and taking it this summer though!

well in that case an appeal probably will not work. An appeal is to argue your case and an appeal must must have NEW compelling circumstances in order to be warranted…

I understand you are taking the class in summer but ucla has explicit requirements about taking all prereqs by Spring of the year preceeding your enrollment…

Do you have extenuating circumstances as to why you dropped the course? Did you provide all details to them already? If UCLA knows you are taking the class in summer and rescinded you I am not sure what an appeal will do… :frowning: You can always try though!

wasnt really extenuating, i just got sick for two weeks and was too weak to go to school, but it wasnt a major illness or anything =/

Being so sick that you’re “too weak” to go to school for two weeks seems like a pretty serious illness to me.

It may also help that you’re registered this summer.

Did you appeal yet? What are you waiting for?

I suppose…I’ll be gathering everything i need for the appeal this week.

I was just hoping there might be people in the same boat as me who can reply and let me know how their appeals are going…

i would SIR to another school just in case. You cant count on your appeal going through.

you can do a search by appeals and a ton of threads will come up… good luck.
