Chances of becoming a National College Match Finalist?

I want to see how I stack up to others. Comment what you guys feel too, I’ll try to reply to all of them. Here is what I found on Questbridge’s website (stats from last year’s finalists):

Average GPA: 3.87
SAT (middle 50%): 1830-2080
SAT (CR+M middle 50%): 1230-1390
ACT Composite (middle 50%): 28-32
Class rank: 89% from the Top 10%
Median Income: $33,177
Free or Reduced-Price Lunch: 79% eligible

Race and Ethnicity:
White: 49%
Hispanic: 30%
Asian: 29%
Black/African American: 17%
American Indian/Alaska Native: 4%
Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander: 1%

Here are my stats:

GPA: 3.86
Didn’t take SAT
ACT composite: 33
Class rank: Top 7%
My family’s income: 0
I am eligible for free lunch
I am Asian

Considering how my numbers are pretty much the same as the finalists from last year, I would say I’m around a 50-50 of becoming a finalist (and hopefully be matched). What do you guys think?

Also, if you want, share your numbers and say what you think you’re chances are! I’ll try to reply too.

I would say you have a good chance of becoming a finalist. The last time I checked, around 40% of applicants were chosen to be finalists. As for matching with a college, that depends on the colleges you ranked and the other parts of your application aside from academics. Also, remember that a majority of QuestBridge applicants are not accepted through the National College Match, but through the QuestBridge Regular decision.

I am also applying for the NCM, and these are my stats:

GPA:
Unweighted: 3.9
Weighted: 5.51
SAT (New): 1470 (Reading/Writing: 720 Math: 750)
Math Level 2 SAT Subject: 790
ACT: 33
Class Rank: 1 / 700
Income: ~ $50,000
Not eligible for free or reduced lunch

I think I also have a good chance at becoming a finalists, especially since I was a QuestBridge College Prep Scholar and won their Quest for Excellence Awards. However, I don’t think I will be matched to the colleges I ranked, but may be accepted through their regular decision.

Good luck!

Good luck!!! Only 3 more days until we find out!!! If we do get matched, then do we withdraw everything, but still submit everything to the college we match to? Do we still have to do the common app for that college or no?

@7mkkm7 The policy depends on college
