Chances of being accepted to UCLA, UCD, UCI, UCSC, UCSB, UCSD

Major: English Literature

Transferring from Santa Monica City College

GPA: 3.6
Major GPA: 4.0

All IGETC finished and all major prerequisites for UCLA complete

Honor Society: Phi Theta Kappa
Honor Programs: Scholars Program (TAP) an agreement with UCLA that improves your chances of being accepted

Employment: I have worked in a law firm for the last 6 years doing just about everything administrative (since I was 17)

Clubs: I just started going to Open-Mic nights but aside from that I am not in any clubs

Let me know if you need any other information : )

Just an FYI, UCLA is the one that focuses on evaluating by major GPA. Not Cal.
Because you have TAP, I think you gave a good chance for UCLA.
I’m not sure on Cal though.

The rest you should be good for.

Thanks OC native. I have a 3.7 right now but I am not optimistic about getting a good grade in Spanish 2. I think I will get either a B or C, and if it is the latter, I will have a 3.6. I have never received a C before and I am worried about the impact it will have on a counselor reviewing my transcript once he sees I screwed up in a class the same semester I submitted my application. Any thoughts?

Bump

Sorry this is totally off-topic to the answers you’re seeking, but how long did it take you to finish your pre-reqs and IGETC?

It took me three years : 0 little longer than the traditional student.

Oh cool, I attend SMC as well. I’m in the scholars program too!

I think you have an excellent shot at UCLA with TAP. I think you’ll be fine if you receive a C in your Spanish class; your GPA would still be pretty good and you have TAP on your side, a huge advantage. Good luck!
