Chances of being admitted into Columbia General Studies as a Transfer?

I am maintaining a 3.8 GPA in Nassau Community College. I have completed courses in Accounting, Statistics, Pre Calculus, Business Law, Business Management, Corporate Finance and English Comp..My Extra Curricular activities are 2 Internships in Finance companies, President of the Wall Street Club, VP of the Business Club, Enhanced Member of the Phi Theta Kappa (attending copious number of activities provided by PTK) and have great Letter of Recommendations.. The only issue i have is my 2.7 GPA in High School and a 22 on my ACT's..I plan on taking my ACT'S over again but i hope my HS GPA won't deter the college's decision to accept me.

PS. i have another semester until i plan to Transfer. In that semester I'm taking: Calculus, Biology, Marketing, Philosophy and a Specific Culture and will be interning for another wall street firm..Im also trying to volunteer at a Management Consulting firm.

I forgot to add the reason why i am a non-traditional student… I went to Israel for 1 year following HS…started college 2 years after High School which classifies me as a non-traditional student.

You have to know that you have nothing to lose if you apply. It seems like a lot of students have grades above 3.5 at a CC,so your grades shouldn’t be a problem. All you need is to score that essay.

This post by a regular poster will help you to address the essay issue
