The school I’m trying to be admitted into is UB. UB is my ultimate goal, and hopefully I can get accepted. I’m just worried about my chances because my SAT scores weren’t that good. I know UB heavily looks at SAT scores, and this is one of the reasons I’m worried. I got a 420 reading on reading, and 410 on math, and a 480 on writing. I know my scores are below average, but I’m wondering if any one was in the same situation and got in. I have a few extra curricular activities that I believe can boost my chances, but I’m not sure. One of them includes I was nominated for a peer leadership group, and I was in German National Honor Society. I know my teacher and counselor wrote me a strong and very good recommendation. I am Turkish aswell, My GPA is about 3.1 too. I’m not sure if that would help me. I already got into Buffalo State, but that isn’t the school I want to go to. If anyone has any advice, or has been through a similar situation, and got accepted please let me know. Thanks.
Well, you’re right, your SAT scores are low. Whether the rest of your application is enough to get you in is probably not something someone on CC can determine. You’ll just have to wait and see what admissions says.
If you should not be accepted, I would suggest you go to Buffalo State, give it everything you’ve got, and you can attempt to transfer to UB, if that remains your goal. After you have 24 credits (basically, after your first year), they won’t look at your SATs, but rather your college GPA: http://admissions.buffalo.edu/transfer/admissionrequirements.php
Best of luck.
