Chances of Berkeley

Freshman year i got a 3.0 gpa and im planning to get a 4.0 gpa for the next 3 years. So overall i would have a 3.75 gpa. With that, i have over 300 ssl hours. and i am doing many extra curricular activites. Also i do volunteer work. And i take many AP and honors classes. So what are my chances of getting into Berkeley. Or other top univeristies such as Yale and Princeton.

Well, you are kind of lucky, actually. The University of California will judge your application for admission based upon your GPA only during your sophomore and junior years (although they do look at the difficulty of your course load during your fresman and senior years).

Yale and Princeton, on the other hand, go by rank--and if you are only 3.0 in your freshman year you will have a very difficult time getting in to either of these schools--even if you were to go 4.0 in all your courses (and they were the toughest ones possible) for the remaining years.

P.S. I'm glad to see you are dedicated to getting 4.0 in your remaining courses--but keep in mind that you will have to do better than you did last year to make this a reality. Hopefully, you are ready to make the extra effort necessary.
