Chances of Columbia/Duke/University of Chicago?

Hey all! First time poster! I was just wondering if anyone had an idea about my possible chances of getting into any of the following universities: Columbia, Duke, and University of Chicago.

Here are my academic statistics:
ACT = 31
- English: 35
- Math: 29
- Reading: 33
- Science: 26

** Superscored = 32

My SAT Subject tests in Math 2 and Literature gave back results that were average with the other testers in that time period.

I attend an International Baccalaureate high school, and take all IB classes. My unweighted GPA is 3.70, and weighted would be 4.0.

Extra-Curricular:

I have created many clubs in my community and school (such as various sports clubs), I have been in charge of many events throughout my high-school career such as setting up annual meetings between schools, building sets for plays, and coaching a football team for one entire year. I am also a member of National Honour Society, Quiz Bowl, and Model United Nations at my school. Other miscellaneous events that I have volunteered at are:Special Needs functions, Detroit Free Press Marathon, Detroit Car Show, and helping with entrance exams for the International Academy of Macomb.

Thanks in advance for all your help!

Cheers,
Akshay Bhanot

Math and Science ACT… try getting that to at least over 30.

Bump?? Please chance me! :)

Sorry but I really can’t see you getting into any of these schools. Columbia is totally out of the question and UChicago and Duke are at the farthest possible reaches of "hardly possible."Have you considered the University of Michigan- it would be a reach for you but I would say you have a shot there. Also look at BU and UMD. I would say NYU is a match/reach for you too

ECs are not strong. GPA is a bit low. Try to get your GPA up if you are not already a senior.
Columbia is a reach for everyone, but I’d put your chances at like 5-10%. I don’t see anything outstanding, to be frank.

No chance at any of these schools to be honest-apply early and spend a lot of time on your University of Michigan application. Make sure to apply to MSU and Wayne State as safeties as well!

Well, definitely apply to those schools as reaches. Just make sure that you have somewhere to attend college if you are not admitted to any of your reach schools.
