Hi,
I am a Freshman at UNC Chapel Hill looking to transfer to Columbia next Fall.
I was differed last year when applying to Columbia College and then eventually rejected.
This year I am applying for admission as a transfer student for the Fall.

I am a hispanic student from Puerto Rico on a full-ride scholarship at UNC Chapel Hill. In addition I am a Presidential Scholar, National Merit Scholar, and AP Scholar with Distinction. I was a member of NHS in high school, captain of the varsity swim team for 2 years and president of the drama club among other school activities. As far as EC's go I am an Eagle Scout, Private Pilot with an instrument rating, Master Scuba Diver, Motorcyclist and I have travelled most of the world. I also founded my own community service project in third grade (which I have continued to this day) and received the Prudential Spirit of the Community Award for it.

My biggest concern is my current GPA. I have a 3.32 after receiving a C- in Chemistry. I am looking to bring up my GPA this semester but I fear that Columbia will toss aside my application because my GPA is bellow the 3.5 that they post as a standard on their website. Does anyone know if they look at rigor of curriculum as well? I have taken 17 credits both semesters, 5 credits over the minimum and 3 over the average for UNC Chapel Hill.

Anyone venture a guess as to how I will do in the admissions process?
