I'm only entering my junior year in HS, but I wanted to see where you think my chances stand now. I'm an African-American male in Upstate NY, I come from a middle class family, my father is Jamaican and went to Princeton, and my uncle went to Duke. I am interested in a career in broadcast journalism.
Class Rank-5/app. 200, vertical average-98.4
New SAT-2030(CR-690, Math-710, Writing-630)
In my first 2 years of high school:JV Basketball (2 yrs) JV Baseball (1Yr) Cross Country (1Yr)
Interned at a local radio station and newspaper.
I am planning to take 7 APs in the next 2 years.
On the NYS Regents I scored a 99 on Math A, 98 on Global History, 100 on Biology, and 100 on Spanish, which I estimate I will be able to score 780-800 on the World History SAT II, 740-800 on Biology, and 630-710 on Math IIC.
I believe I can increase my SAT I scores in the next two years, but as of now what do you think my chances are for early and regular decision? Also any suggestions on what I should add to my resume?

You need to volunteer more and get active activity wise. I am an African -American girl who will be attending Bucknell. You SAT is great amd your grades are two. Just get more active.

Is your GPA weighted?

I think your chances are great, esp being a minority

My GPA is unweighted.

Bring up my post.

if u get ur SAT up a bit more thatll definately increase ur chances...id saying being that ur a minority with such good scores will give u a good shot but shudnt consider urself a shoe-in so make sure ur really realisitc about ur schools...i have a friend thats african american guy who was a senior last year he had great EC's, 4.0, and 1550 SAT and he thought u was a shoe-in b/c he had such high Stats for a minority so he only applied to HYPS and duke and UMCP and UMBC, he got rejected from HYPS and duke and he got into UMCP and UMBC...which definately sucked...so be really realistic

reading over my last message note that the 1550/1600 and "he thought HE was a shoe-in" haha not u sry bad typing

Oh on my first post I meant Math IC not IIC.
