Chances of EA?

I applied Early Action... what do my chances look like?

33 ACT composite
SATS are ok- V660,M710,W700 but i think my ACTs are better?

GPA
unweighted: 3.9+
weighted:4.7+

Rank
unweighted: 6/400+
weighted: 4/400+

great athlete (not looking to play sports, but have played on varsity teams all through highschool) , lots of ECs, etc

No takers???????????

Scores look good, how about the essay? What about recs? Keep in mind that these things factor into admissions also! Good Luck!!!!

Rank is great..... GPA is great...... ACT is good(average or above).... Athletics is great

for the things that you have listed,,,,, everything lookds goood

But what about any other E.C's?
Like AL said.... how were your essays and recs?

All the normal stuff looks good though

GOod luck

i did my essay on passion and it was very good, everyone who read it loved it including very qualified english teacher.... who also corrected it

extra curriculars include NHS, best buddies, vice president of stand, plus community service (tutoring, working at the pound, etc)
i wouldnt say i have THAT many extra curriculars since i play on 5 + different sports teams a year..... but they are decent

5+...? is that even possible..... In Arizona there is 3 seasons.... and its only possible to play one sport a season.....
How do you manage to play 5 sports a year.... im thinkn club teams

well i play on more than one team for 3 different sports (some not affiliated with school, yet take up just as much time) basically i play year roound

ohh... gotcha.... nice..

what sports do you play?

I'd think colleges would like to see a lot of dedication for 1-3 sports rather than five, but who knows.

well i agree with you rrenacci... but if you read hello's post it says that he plays 3 sports... but on 5 dif. teams.... sounds like dedication to me...

I'm a three sport athlete too............ its tough im only on 3 teams though- i couldnt imagine what the time commitment for 5 teams is.....

well personally, i dont live my life to please colleges, if i wanted to play 5 sports i would regardless of how "colleges would look at it"

P.S I am a girl

"I don't live my life to please colleges"

Amen, Hellohello!

On the strength of that comment alone, I'd be inclined to accept you, if I were on an admissions board. That is a very healthy attitude! :)

As per the sports, I don't know many kids playing sports at the varsity level who aren't a part of competitive teams in the off-season... Actually, don't know that such a thing as an off-season exists anymore like it did when my generation was in high school. My daughter's "break" after cross-country season lasted precisly 4 days, before she started up with indoor soccer to prepare for the spring season.

Your EA profile looks as good as anybody's, better than most.

Just out of curiosity, what are the sports?

I play Varsity basketball during the winter season, my coach is kind of intense so we basically play year round-
regular season, plus unofficial torunaments all year, fall league and summer league (both of which are not serious)
plus i play AAU basketball during the spring (not affiliated with my high school team)

I play varsity soccer during the fall, and i also play on a travel team during the spring

i also run as a sprinter on the track team for my school during the spring, just to keep in shape

on top of this i train at bluestreak (an intense program for highschool and colege athletes) which is about 2-3 hours a day 3 times a week

as you can see, theres not a huge window between my last period and practice where i can be involved in student council or many other activities

AMEN hello....

Thats awesome

ya.... at most i get a week off between seasons

hope you get in.... good luck

Athleics is a very solid EC at Notre Dame. Dedication to athletics alone is dedication. Playing on 5 teams shows more dedication then playing on 1 even if you are some how showing a "passion" for that one sport. I personally am passionate about sports in general and play on 5 different teams for 5 different sports. So I strongly believe one can be passionate about competition and sports as a whole. Good luck to everyone applying to ND.
