I am looking to apply by petition to the FSU Honors program. I would like to know if it's worth my time to apply with my stats:

1740 SAT
4.4 GPA
23 AP/AICE Classes (53 credits if I pass all of mine this year) and 4 honors classes
Ranked 104/815
Taking all AP classes senior year

The average stats of students accepted by petition was 4.2 GPA and 1970 SAT, but I feel my rigorous coursework might make up for the low test scores.

Your SAT is too low, I don’t think you’ll get in sorry. The whole schools avg sat is 1830.
No worries though you can apply after your first semester and its based strictly off your grades

Directly from the petition application on the FSU website:

Successful applicants generally meet at least three of the following four requirements: 3.9 or higher FSU-calculated high school GPA; a qualifying test score of either 1850 total on the SAT (including Critical Reading, Math, and Writing) or 28 composite on the ACT; a strong senior schedule academically; and class rank in the top ten percent of their high school graduating class. Meeting these requirements alone does not guarantee admission.

It appears you may meet the GPA one, depending on how you are calculating your GPA vs how FSU calculates it and the strong schedule requirement. You do not meet the SAT requirement, nor the class rank requirement however.

I have a feeling that most petition applicants probably meet all 4 qualifications.

Honestly, I do not think you have a good chance.

Can anyone guess my chances of getting in?
