No offense, but I don’t think students there care enough to analyze chances of getting certain scholarships like they would at schools like Cornell or Harvard. I think there’s information on the school website about requirements for scholarships, but they aren’t very helpful.

Probably not high enough for Presidents Scholarship (Full ride). Perhaps Provost or maybe Founders. You should definitely apply for Hunt Scholarship with all of the leadership experience.

Julie15 is right, because the median student invited to interview for the President’s Scholarship last year had an SAT score of 1500 (reading and math).

Still, you truly never know, you might get an invitation to interview. But still, you should apply for the Hunt Scholarship with the extra essay because of your leadership qualities.
Some students get close to a full ride because of regular SMU scholarships, along with financial aid, and departmental scholarships, as well.

Girl from my high school was ranked 1 out of 750, loads of ECs, 2300 on the SAT…did not get a full ride.

You must also realize a problem with many of my friends who have the ECs and grades to be considered for the President’s Scholarship is that they applied too late to the school or something was wrong with their application, making it late as well.

And if they are invited to interview for the scholarship, the interview is the last thing that sets students apart. So if you have all these great scores and ECs, but mess up your interview, that also plays a major role in the decision-making.

How many students on average are offered full ride?

it depends from year to year. This years entering class had 36 offers go out and 23 students take the scholarship. The current sophomore and junior classes have closer to 40 president’s scholars each.

Letters for Presidential scholarship went out. Invite to interview.
