Does anyone know the statistics? I was wait listed and I'm DYING to go there. It's my first choice by a HUGE margin.

P:S: Any tips to improve my chances?

thanks

send it your recent achievements, ECs or academics, whatever you're good at.
otherwise, do extremely well in another college and transfer

haha i got off the waitlist a few days ago...
I talked to someone and last year they took about 700 WL candidates becuase they purposely underaccepted and expected to go on the WL to makesure their yield didnt exceed 5400.

flong, did you do anything special like write a letter or anything?

btw, I thought i saw somewhere that only 5 people got accepted off the waitlist last year?

frankricard2, I am in the same place as you.
I'm on the waiting list and U of M was my first choice, by far.
It's crazy having to wait. I'm almost completely sure I'll have to transfer, especially with so few people getting accepted from the waiting list every year.
=(

5 was 2 years ago. Last year was 700. This year will likely be in the hundreds again

I got accepted off the wait list mid-april >_>

good luck

Got accepted off the wait-list today!

A tip that apparently worked: send a letter. Seriously, just write them and tell exactly why you want to go there and how you're even better than you were when you first applied. Suck up, but keep it genuine.

congrats katien24! wanna ask when did u send in the letter? i sent in a letter also and i juz wanna haf a clue how long it takes.

o so appeal documents really work? is it too late for me to send the letter now? i'm afraid the decision is almost up, gosh
