Alright! Thank you so much @fallenchemist!!
just got admitted to Tulane as a transfer too! Congrats!
How likely does it seem that I would receive some academic aid?
I currently have a 4.0 GPA at my university, and am also playing a division 1 sport where I made the leagues academic hour roll. My high school stats were pretty good, about a 4.35 weighted GPA (3.8 unweighted) and ok standardized test scores (2030 SAT and 31 ACT). I also was the treasure of the spanish club at my university and at my high school I was member of National honors society, Spanish Honors society, played 4 varsity sports, and was an AP scholar with distinction . Money is a big factor in deciding where I will transfer, since I would prefer to graduate with no debt. If I don’t get a scholarship for fall semester can you receive for the following semester?
You also seem like a good candidate for some scholarship money. I don’t know how many of these Tulane awards. But I do know that for transfer students $20,000 is the largest merit scholarship. Now need based financial aid is completely different, and even if you get the merit money you can still get need based aid if your family finances dictate it. And that aid can be a combination of loans, work-study, and grants which don’t have to be paid back. You just never know until you apply and then get a package.
The merit is only awarded upon entering. The need based aid is reviewed once a year.
Congrats!!Well I got a 3.35 gpa in HS, it’s pretty bad but I made a change in my community college I’m now having a 3.81 more than 42 credit hours. I didn’t have to submit my SAT score or ACT. I’m also in International Dean’s List Society and Phi Theta Kappa. I wrote my why tulane essay based on my research about Tulane Medical School’s alumni because that’s what I want to do… So yeah that’s my experience. I thought I wouldn’t get in I’ll be discourage… Btw congratulations to you once again… @tuckeditkid
