Chances of getting accepted as a transfer student?

I'm planning to apply to UIUC as a transfer student, but I'm really freaking out about getting rejected. I took one semester of college in Fall 2012, but had to take the spring semester off for my health. I'm making up half those credits this summer.

If I apply mid-December, I'll have over 30 credits and all my classes (except one, but it was only worth one credit) are transferable and the classes I plan to take for the 2013 - 2014 school year are all transferable to either my major (anthropology, in the college of LAS) or to the gen ed requirements.

I've done plenty of volunteer work, I was in the honors program last year at my college, I was on the Dean's List, I got an invitation to PTK, and I've done a few extracurricular activities in high school and college. I'm also an in-state resident.

GPA: 3.7
ACT: 27

Do I have a chance?

with a 3.7 you’re a shoo-in

You definitely have a good chance of getting in, most likely LAS or DGS. Just keep your grades up, take classes that are transferrable, and get involved.

It should not be hard to get into LAS or DGS. Best of luck.
