chances of getting accepted by UC Berkeley or Columbia

I am a rising sophomore in Vanderbilt,I plan to transfter to either UC Berkeley or Columbia as junior transfer. My GPA is not competitive(3.4),but I think I will get 3.8 or above next semester. My family is kinda poor so I have to work 2 jobs the same time. I have a lot of ECs, such as intramural soccer championship, concert volunteer, trebuchet design comptetion...my SAT is 1280, SAT II math 800, physics 750, Writing 550. I won a lot of math competitions medals, but ironically, I got B on both math classes the first two semesters. Can anybody tell me my chances of getting accepted by these two school?

your chances are low for either school right now. If however you keep up your grades next semester, your odds will increase significantly. Retake the SAT and improve your verbal score. Cal really likes students from poor backgrounds.

Why do you want to transfer? What's the main jist of your essay and perspective?

the reason I wanna transfer is my family is lving in NY now and they might move to CA, also I dont like the life in Vanderbilt. I understand it is gonna be tough if I transfer to other college, but I still strive to give a shot. I havent started writing essay yet, honestly, I suck in writing essay.I dont wanna retake SAT again, I think they dont care about it cause I junior transfer, right?
