Chances of getting accepted into GA Tech or MIT

What are my chances of getting into GA tech? I will be applying to MIT as well.
I will be a senior in August. I did terrible freshman year (3.3 GPA) but I got all As sophomore and junior year. In addition I wasn’t involved in any clubs freshman and sophomore year, all I did was cross country. I was more involved junior year and will be more involved senior year.
GPA as shown on transcript: 3.85
GA Tech weighted GPA: 3.79
Cumulative Average: 93.4
ACT: 32(taken in December 2014), English(34) Math(31) Reading(33) Science(29) (will be taking again September)
AP Courses: AP Bio, AP World, APUSH, AP Physics1, AP Lang, 12th grade courses: (AP Gov/Econ, AP PhysicsC, AP Calc BC)
Freshman year extracurricular: Cross Country
Sophomore year extracurricular: Cross Country and GHP
Junior year extracurricular: Cross Country, Beta Club, Math Honor Society, Math Team, DECA, Chemistry Club, Junior Marshall, heavily involved in community service.

My son’s stats very similar. Got into GT but not MIT even though they flew him out for a visit to the Engineering Dept with the WISE program where they told them 50% of that group would be accepted.

@Rdtsmith sorry for the late reply. Did your son do something special like win a science fair competition or anything like that? How was his essay and supplement prompts? What year was he accepted. GA tech’s stats have increased over the years. The reason I’m concerned is because my GPA is so low and my EC is not very strong either. I plan on writing an incredible essay and having awesome recommendations.

I think if you got into GHP, tech shouldn’t be an issue, esp. considering your high ACT.

Just curious, but what was your major? (I’m going to GHP Sunday so hype)

I actually did not make GHP. I should’ve made it more clear but I reached the round before they select finalists. I think it’s state finalist or something. I went for orchestra, but I think it’s irrelevant because I want to major in engineering at tech.
I know I’m ok with act but what about ECs and GPA. If I wrote an amazing essay and got amazing recommendations, do you think I can get in?
@Yakisoba

I’d say still include that you were a semifinalist. Couldn’t hurt, right?

Also, a lot of your ECs are math oriented so I’d say that’s a strong point to your application. Tbh you’re gonna be fine; all my friends who had low SAT scores and were worried they weren’t going to get in ended up receiving acceptance letters. And you have great stats. Good luck!
