ok… so that’s like my entire app pretty much, and if you know me, you most definitely will be able to figure out who I am lmao but here’s my stats, so please give it to me straight. I think my common app essay and supplemental essays were pretty strong, I’ve had them reviewed a lot and edited by some teachers. I think overall it’s well rounded, but I’m still so scared. I really, really like Brown and I don’t want to get my hopes up/realize all that work was for nothing… I don’t know…

How did you finish calculus in your sophomore year and get a 1350 on your SAT? Not to be rude, but something doesn’t seem right.

What do you mean you don’t think you have a chance??? Just by looking at your swimming records alone, you’re incredibly talented and have a spike at something that’s really hard to achieve! I would by NO means count you out of the running.

Forget about your standardized test scores, colleges don’t put much weight on them anymore; they pretty much only glance at them to make sure you are within the ballpark of all their admits (which you are), so don’t think that that would be the reason you would be counted out.

I will also repeat what I am sure you are tired of hearing, but you also cannot have to much confidence, or too much hope going into it. With such a selective college, it really is the roll of a die. Personally, I went through exactly what you were going through about a month ago, really freaked out about getting rejected. Now, I still am to some extent, and I would still chose Brown as my first school, but I have come to the point where I have accepted that it doesn’t really matter what school I go to. We both come from relatively privileged families, and regardless of the college we attend, the education our parents, teachers, friends, and family have given us throughout our lives will be more than enough for us to be successful in life. So please, please, PLEASE don’t place your entire worth in the hands of a single slip of paper.

hahaha yeah I know, I took my first SAT last year and I don’t think I was prepared well enough for it. It was school mandated and I don’t think I took it seriously enough because I was hoping to just rely on my ACT lol
