Chances of getting an ROTC scholarship?

I'm currently a junior about to apply for an Army ROTC 4 year scholarship, wondering what my chances were of getting it from those who may have experience.

As I said I'm a junior, I've got around a 3.8 CGPA for my career, and will have taken 4 years of English, math, science, and social studies when I graduate with honors. I am also enrolled in two AP classes for next year.

I'm a member of National Honor Society, Business Professionals of America (7th in district Human Reaources), my church youth group, and have over 85 internship hours at my local fire department. I also have 2 years of football, and a year of basketball and varsity tennis. I'm also in the top 20% of my class.

I take my ACT in April, studying hard already, so I expect to do well on that. What are my chances of getting the scholarship for a public school? Thanks!

It sounds like you have a pretty good chance. You get extra points for sports and your extracurricular activities are a plus.
The first round is passing the application process and getting picked for an interview.
Make sure you get good recommendation letters for your application and write a good “personal statement” for the essay portion.

The interview portion weighs a lot on whether you get it or not, so be sure to prepare for that if you get pass the application stage. (It sounds like you have a pretty good shot at an interview).

It’s also good that you’re applying early. I didn’t apply until a month before the deadline my senior year, and I still got the scholarship.
