Chances of getting back into my dorm/suggestions for new one

Hey, I'm currently a freshman at Rutgers, and living in Stonier Hall. Now, obviously I like my dorm, and I'd definitely like to be able to get back into it. However, I realize that Stonier is one of the most popular places to live, and therefore it might be tough for me to. What are my chances of getting back in with a number of 1386? I realize it's difficult to predict, but best estimates are always welcome.

Also, what halls would you recommend I try other than Stonier, if I don't get in? I'd like to stay on College Ave, but feel free to suggest halls from other campuses, as well! Thanks for the input.

Is that dorm the closest to the river and has the best view to the railroad bridge? I’m actually planning to pursue in Engineering, but want to live the “city life” of College Ave. How is it there overall?

No, Stonier is the hall right next to Brower Commons, and across the street from the Student Center.

I think you would have a better chance if your number was more in the hundreds =\ But you might get lucky if others with lower lottery numbers are applying for apartment or suite housing.

I say you try any other hall on College Avenue just in case (I do hope you get your first choice though!). People generally like the river dorms for some reason (Hardenbergh, Campbell, Frelinghuysen), but I live in one of them and don’t really care for it. Next year I’m living in Leupp.

**Clothier **seems to be popular. It’s that high rise building near the health center. People generally like Clothier. Also try any of the other buildings in the “Quad” area (Wessels, Pell, Hegeman, Mettler, etc.)

Can you tell me what dorms allow freshman to have cars on campus? I’m going to have to keep my job to pay for school so I need to be able to get there.

I believe they changed the rule from last year in regards to freshman having cars on campus. Now freshman are allowed to have cars on campus. Before the rule change, in your case, you would have been allowed to have a car as a freshman because of your job situation.

Not all dorms have parking lots. In some cases, you might be assigned a parking lot on another campus (like Livingston since there are so many parking lots on that campus). So worse comes to worst, you might have to leave your car on another campus and take the bus over there.

College avenue has limited parking. Busch has decent parking. I say that Busch and Livingston are your best bet if you want decent parking. You need to apply for a permit online when it becomes available for the fall: [Rutgers-NewBrunswick/Piscataway Parking Permits](<a href=“Parking & Transportation Services | Institutional Planning and Operations”>Parking & Transportation Services | Institutional Planning and Operations)
