Chances of getting in after recent EPIC FAIL?

I pretty much dived in my sophomore year
i went from a straight A student to a guy who failed a class and got a C in 2 classes (failed the extra class i took and got a C in 2 AP classes)

and OMG, my AP exam scores SUCK (2 , 1 , 3, 2 ,3)
...i was going through some stuff 0.o

so please please please tell me what i can do to make up for this epic fail of a year and get back to competitive standings!...(one thing i planned to do was take an incredible tough course load junior year)

I also want to go to MIT so i posted this there too, but i realized I pretty much killed my chances there...unless some saintly person on this forum can give me some beacon of hope?

Yeah you are screwed.

Write an excuse for it in your essay. It’s going to be a stretch because of the topics ([which can be found here](<a href=“Blow the Whistle! (404 error: page not found) | Undergraduate Admission”>Apply to Georgia Tech | Undergraduate Admission)) but i think you might be able to work it into the second essay prompt. That’s the only thing I can think of… you said you were going through some stuff; the application gives you a space for explanations at the end (I looked at the sample.), but you can also work it into your essay.

Make sure you apply to safety schools that you would be happy going to.

You are going to be a junior, right? Get your act together next year. Then the admissions officers will be more willing to accept the aforementioned excuse that you wrote about.

If you didn’t learn the material this year, then I would consider repeating a year.
