Hey, I'm a HS junior just looking at my college options... here are my stats (Including next year)

GPA: Non weighted: 3.1
Weighted; 3.7 (about 12 honors, 4 AP)

(Note: my gpa freshman year was about a 2.6, sophomore year about a 3.4 and jr year about a 3.5. I have taken more credits than needed in almost every subject, however i only completed 1.5 years of spanish and 2 years of sign language)

Psat 600 math
570 Reading
490 Writing

Planning on getting between 1800-2100 on sat.

Taking the ACT in April

I'm really involved with my school.

I have been class president for the past 3 year, and plan to do a 4th year, next year.

Clubs im in:

-Persian Club
-AIDS peer educating group
-Homecomming/Prom commettie

Outside of school, i have worked at a quiznos for 2 years, and now work for a child abuse clinic. I have also volunteered for a few political campains.

I'm from Montgomry County, Maryland. I go to a public school. MoCo is sopposed to be one of the best public school education systems in the country.

I'm family friends with a CofC graduate who donates alot to the school, and says he ight have a chance at gettign my in.

What are my chances?

please help meee

Right now, I'd say you are a borderline candidate.

If you achieve your goals in terms of SAT scores, you have a good chance of acceptance (in my opinion, based on my out-of-state d's stats and her acceptance).

You should check and see if College of Charleston uses a weighted or unweighted GPA, or whether they recalculate it based their own criteria.

okay i will thanks... i love charleston... any other tips for getting in

I got a 1890 on my sats, I was elected class president for a 4th year (first time a class president has been elected all 4 years at my school), and i got into national honors society.

I also went for a tour of CofC.

Do my chances improve?

If interest is a factor, then yes, your chances improve by touring, assuming they register your name. It’s not really mentioned on the CollegeBoard page for College of Charleston, but I’m sure it can be a tipping factor if they’re deciding between you and another candidate.

Definitely do Early Action (submit earlier and you’ll automatically be listed as EA) since CofC is somewhat rolling admission.

CofC likes out of state students, so that could actually help you, especially if they need more Maryland people.

Continue to show interest and do your best in school from here on out :)

thank you so much…

CofC actually lowers their standards for instate… because they want more instate

I am a senior in High School and I’m also interested in CofC. My weighted GPA is a 4.1 (3.1unweighted) with an 1200 SAT score. I’m from Florida and I have taken almost all of my classes throughout highschool have been honors and several APs. Most of my classes are very difficult (such as APCalc BC) and are the highest difficulty that my school has to offer. I am from Florida and have swam on the varsity high school swim team all 4 years and have also been swimming year round on a club level team for 10 years. I hold a school record in swimming as well…taking all those factors into consideration what are my chances of getting into CofC?

**a 1200 on my SAT

Actually sorry about the grammar in general I typed this out on my phone and didn’t proof read my post. Sorry haha
