So Fordham is most likely my top choice for college. I only have an 87 grade average approximately, but I got a 32 on the ACTs, take AP classes(2 in junior year and taking another 3 next fall in senior), and participate in some extra curriculars such as my school's rowing team. If i write a really good essay, get reccs from alumni, and possibly pull up my ACT grade a bit what are my chances of getting in?

You’re pretty average, from what you put here. Can you tell us, more specifically, what your scores are, what classes you take, extracurriculars, etc?

The 32 ACT is pretty good, but you might want to take the SAT as well. As long as you study for it, I’d say you could do well on it. Colleges like both tests, for some reason. SAT II’s might help as well.

Recs from alumni help, but they’ll be useless unless they are enthusiastic and really positive about you. You might want a teacher who likes you, or you have a good relationship with, instead. If that teacher happens to be an alum, all the better. Just remember, content is more important than anything else.

Getting into specifics, the two AP classes ive taken are US History and Physics B, having gotten in the mid-80s as an average for the year in both of them. I think I got at least a 4 on the History, maybe a 3 or 4 on Physics, havent gotten results yet.

I took some SATIIs, got a 680 on Mathematics II, a 640 on US History, and a 610 on Literature.
I also took the SAT reasoning, and got a 630 on Critical Reading, 670 on Math, and 640 on Writing.
As for extra-curriculars I’m on the Crew Team, I volunteer quite often at a local soup kitchen, and I participate in a Youth Court, which if you don’t know is similar to Mock Trial, except you and a group of people are conducting an actual trial for someone your age charged with a small crime (theft, possession of weed, etc) and determining a sentence.
