I have a 3.1 GPA right now, didnt do so hot this tri (3.0-3.2 at best, will get a D or D+, in an AP Class possibly a C , 1-2 B+s and 2-3A's), 28 ACT composite on first try, Model UN, Student Senate, 2 other clubs, Brother got accepted and went a few years ago, Sister got accepted and didn't go also 3-4 years ago.

1 AP sophomore year
2 APs Junior year
1 Honors class Freshman Year
2 Honors Classes Soph year
1 Honors class this year
2 years advanced in Math.

do i have a good shot? I dont think i can drastically get my GPA up that much higher since we go by trimesters which gives us 15 grades a year. thanks!

3.1 is quite low for MSU. You need to do very well from here on out and you might have a chance. It seems that MSU focuses far more on GPA than test scores. Your brother and sister will have no impact on your admission.

You have a shot, but a fairly low one. Apply early and you’ll most likely get deferred. The best thing you can possibly do is just do very well from here on out and show a major upward trend.

Best of luck!!

honestly that is really low…since they look at individual classes, they will see you D and your C…that is far below the msu criteria… Your best shot is to raise your gpa to atlest a 3.5-3.6 to have a fairly decent chance…you act score is not bad, and even tho you take AP classes its no use if your doing really bad in them.
