Hey!
I’d love to hear people’s opinions of my chances for gaining admission both ED and RD. Please be honest, I can handle it!

I’m also teaching a class of high school freshmen as part of a program at my school. This is very time consuming and it requires making lesson plans for class every day.

I think you have decent but not outstanding chances. You have acceptable stats etc, but it’s just not a big school.

I will say that Bucknell wrote an amazing denial letter – along the lines of we don’t have enough room for everyone who would succeed with us, but we know YOU will succeed where ever you go, because Bucknell attracts applicants who have the qualities needed for success.

To paraphrase: because you applied here, you are gonna do GREAT, even though you won’t be going here!

One of the easiest and quickest way to upgrade the application is to get better scores in SAT. If you apply to ED II or RD (you do know that they have an ED II round, don’t you?), you still have Nov and Dec SAT to increase your scores. Study on your own, get a tutor if you/your parents can afford it. Bucknell takes CR and M. Between the two, I believe Math is easier to improve with intense tutoring, etc.

Last year, the middle 50% for the ED students for CR was 600-670 and for M was 630-710. For the overall admitted students, the stats were significantly higher. So, if you are serious about Bucknell, ED is a way to go, and I would try ED II.

You’re probably fine. I didn’t think it was hard to get into to be honest. They make it sound way harder than it is. Just interview and make sure your passions come across.
