Probably about average/a little above average. I assume you're a junior?

yes i am a junior

talk to other kids at your school who did and didn't get into pton and size yourself up to them. it's honestly the only way to get any idea of your chances and even then there's a whole lotta uncertainty in the whole process. you seem to have a whole lot of different extracurriculars, and while that's good in that it shows that you have a variety of interests, it may be more eye-catching if there's one particular thing that you really excel in. there's not all that much you can change as far as ec's go at this point, but try to make that research really count and stand out. and just give it your all for whatever you do. good luck.

Hi collegebond78

I'm also a junior, and i'm also thinking about doing molecular biology/pre-med in college. i recently met with a princeton alumni through my school and gave him my stats. they're actually pretty similar to yours:

For math, I've taken everything up thru AP Calc BC (I'm finishing it this year). Next year, I'm taking linear algebra at a state university.
For science, i've taken honors chem, honors bio, and I'm finishing AP Bio this year. next year i'm taking AP Chem and AP Physics. unfortunately, my school doesn't offer much else for science, so i'm just trying to take as high as I can.
my GPA is a 4.0 UW and i scored a 2280 on the SAT. i haven't taken the ACT yet, but i'm also hoping to score a 34 or so based on practice tests.
lastly, i've done state-level science competitions every year and done a robotics-building program with a fortune 500 company.

the alumni i met with said i had a definite chance, but he warned me to continue with foreign language (i was planning on taking the spanish AP this year, then dropping it senior year to take russian). he also told me that i should do more english-related activities, since I didn't look stellar in that area. he basically told me that if I could get other areas (english, language) matched up with the level of science and math i was doing, I would increase my chances of getting in.
he also suggested that i apply early; he also said i might have a slight advantage bc i'm a girl.

i don't know how much that helps--but based off what the alumni told me, I think you've got a good chance. : )

thnks. my hook is that im from a single parent family. wud i have to continue with spanish or would i be able to start a new language?

i don't know. i guess as long as you've taken the highest level offered at your school, then maybe you can go ahead and take a new one. ????

remember: no early decision anymore. you're all in the same pool.

i dont think ill get in.

then give up now. right attitude. this way you'll never know

stop thinking! just do. apply. You seem to have a very good chance

are you being recruited for crew? or do you plan to walk on?

i mplan on joining crew team at my school next year.

remember on the app theres only space for 5 activities and they ask for the ones for more depth so thats great you want to row crew next year (i row, and no, i wasnt recruited) but keep in mind colleges only really care about the ones with more depth so again, row crew but its probably not going to make it on the app
and ive done so many random things and i couldnt mention them all unforuntately on the app ;-(

i havent done much besides key club, research internship and outside school job.

Hi. I'm also a junior and I was wondering if you guys would extend the same courtesy to me.

I know it's kind of a crap shoot, but I was just wondering.
SAT: 780 CR-720M-740W
PSAT: 231, so probably qualified for National Merit
APs: My course schedule this year is insane; by the time I get out of high school I should have 12 or 13 APs.
The only actual exam I've taken so far is Government and Politics, which I got a 5 on, but I'm hoping/expecting the 6 I take this year will turn out as well.
ECs: Crew (all four years), Cross country (freshman year), Student Government (sophomore year), school play all four years (we're doing Cinderella next and I'm going to be playing Cinderella), ITS (Drama Honors Society this year and next year), Spanish Club, Philosophy Club, Student Legislative Assembly (co-chair), Classical Society (this year and next year), and I started a soup kitchen in my community and am running it.
Hooks: I skipped two years of Spanish and taught myself a year of math so that six weeks into this school year they had to switch me up a year.
Artistically speaking, I play the saxophone, flute, and piano, but not really on any Olympian levels. I just fiddle around with them. And I do a bunch of creative writing. I also speak Spanish and I'm moderately proficient with Brazilian Portuguese.

sorry if this is an imposition. thanks for the time.

any more comments on my chances?

Just a note, you can list all the activities you want if use Common App.

im dead compared to somone like you sayuri.

btw ive held that job for four years.
