Chances of getting in/ The RTF Program

My top choice of school is UT because I'm hoping to get into the RTF program. A lot of my friends who graduated this past year are going to UT but have to do a summer program or go to the San Antonio location for a year (I think..?). I'm currently in the top 10% with an SAT score of 1900 (which I might be retaking in October). This being said, I have two concerns:
- I don't know my exact ranking so I'm not sure how secure I am in the top ten percent at my school. Since I'm hoping to apply August/Septemberish I was wondering what rank would get sent to UT. Would it be my rank from the end of my junior semester or do they calculate the current rank at the time of applying? This might be a really silly question but I'm not sure how these things work. I have a 3.96 GPA so if I don't end of staying in the top 10% do I still have good chances of getting in? And what's the deal with summer school and the other locations?
- This is just a question for people who know about or have been through the program, but what's it like in terms of getting into RTF? I think I ran across something that said I wouldn't have to submit work but how would I go about being accepted?

Thanks and sorry for such a long post!

I was at UT-Austin last week with S doing the tour and admissions counselor presentation. They were extremely clear that if you submit your transcript NOW (end of junior year) that is the one they will use. If you are top 10% now in a Texas high school you will be admitted.

If you're not in the top ten you still have a chance. I got in and I was in the top 15% or somewhere in there so I wouldn't worry about that. I would retake the SAT and maybe even try the ACT. I got a 34 so that probably helped me where my rank did not.

And about other location:

"Some Texas freshman applicants who aren’t admitted to The University of Texas at Austin are offered participation in the Coordinated Admission Program (CAP).

This program offers students the opportunity to begin their undergraduate studies at a participating UT System university in the state and earn the right to complete their undergraduate coursework at UT Austin beginning their sophomore year..

CAP students are guaranteed admission to UT Austin for their sophomore year if they earn 30 hours of transferable coursework and achieve at least a 3.2 GPA."

^wow
You think your 34 "probably" helped. That's all you needed to get. It's not realistic for someone who got a 1900 to get a 34 on their ACT, it just isn't. Everything else on your application was pretty much irrelevant once you got that, and using yourself as an example is pretty irresponsible.

You are in UT for sure, since you are in the top 10% at the end of your junior year. Send in your transcript immediately when school starts, and you should be in. I am not sure about RTF, but I think, worst case, you will be able to transfer in.

Oh my God, Im sorry. I meant 31, not 34.
Guess it doesn't matter now.
