I went through two years at UC Irvine and completed my freshman year with a 3.6 and my sophomore year with a 2.7. My GPA dropped drastically because I was fighting stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma...because of this, I was also unable to complete all my major classes before requesting to transfer to Berkeley. While at UCI I also worked as editor of the yearbook and was very involved on campus. I wrote a very strong personal statement explaining my situation and the struggles I faced dealing with cancer while at school... Does anybody have any idea what my chances of getting in are? I also explained in my personal statement that Berkeley would allow me to be near my doctors, as I will need to maintain monthly visits once i complete chemo...will this be taken into account?

Interesting story and I hope you have a quick recovery! I’d say if you can convey your struggles in an essay and your rigor of study was intense, you’d be able to get in
