if I don't get in, are there any other options I really want to do CompE

Your SAT score honestly isn’t that bad. Though you other sections are weak, 780 on Math is great and will be seen by the adcoms. Overall, you seem to be on the lower end of things but you definitely have a chance. As I’ve said in other threads, Electrical and Computer Engineering is one of the biggest engineering majors so there’s typically a decent amount of wiggle room. If you want to be more sure of things then make sure you do a good job on your essays. Apparently they’re doing things a lot more holistically now so if you take the essays seriously then that may be the difference between acceptance and rejection. If your “really want to do CompE” then it shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

Even if you don’t get accepted by Cockrell at first, you will be accepted by UT. Worse come to worse, you transfer in later. For internal transfers, each major within Cockrell sets a GPA cutoff for each semester and accepts most of those whom are above it. For example, the ECE cutoff for internal transfers this semester was 3.34, a GPA that is entirely within reach.
Anyone know when admission decisions for Cockrell will begin to roll out?
