If you’re not instate for UTexas, then not likely. Your GPA and ACT are lowish for GT.

You’re OOS for at least 2 of these schools. That means that they’ll cost your parents a LOT of money. Are they prepared to pay full costs?

Actually Georgia Tech only looks at the english and math act scores which I am way above average especially for math. I definitely agree with you on UT-Austin. My GPA is a bit low but I attend a school that uses unweighted gpa so with all the ap and honors classes my weighted gpa will increase when they calculate that. I don’t understand why I can’t get a scholarship with those AP scores and ACT?

AP scores don’t net you scholarships, and probably most of their applicants have similar or better AP scores.

And your ACT is average for those schools…Scholarships are given to those who have very high ACTs…well into the top 25%.

Even at Bama, you wouldn’t get much with an ACT 29. That’s not top quartile for that school either.

ACT: 29 Math 34 English 30

That’s not high for GT.

GT…

63% have an ACT Math of 30-36

58% have an ACT English of 30 - 36

Your English score is below 58% of the students. Your math score is probably around the top 85% mark. You wouldn’t get merit from GT.

BTW…you shouldn’t title your thread that way…you should make a title like…Where should I go…GT, UTexas, UWisconsin or where?

I understand that AP scores don’t give you scholarships, but instead exempt you from different classes and save you good amount of money.

I also understand that an ACT of 29 doesn’t give you a scholarship and is average. All I am concerned at the moment is how my scores compare with others and if I have a good chance at attending the colleges listed above. 34 is above 80th percentile for kids who apply to GT and 30 is about 65 percentile. I also have to mention that they do not look at composite, so composite doesn’t really matter for GT. For any people wondering it’s sort of a waste to superscore unless it’s for english or math.

For UW you are average so around 50-50 chance.

Thanks for the feedback. I am new to this so I am just getting to know how to use CC.

I do have to mention however my friend got in with a 28 act score for GT and he wasn’t wait listed. So we’ll see how it goes.
