Chances of getting in to UT Austin

Hello,

I’m trying to transfer into UT Austin for the fall of 2015. I should have went there when I had the chance, but I was pressured not to go. I just wanted to know what my chances are of getting in. Right now, I’m a petroleum engineering major. I chose liberal arts-economy as my first major and natural science-math as my second major. I currently have a 3.47 GPA. I am the secretary of Clean Energy Initiative, subcommittee chair member of SPE, and member of the club baseball team. I’ve worked with my dad on developing a new baseball product and have made a patent on it. We are trying to sell our patent to other companies interested in our product. I’ve flown to China to do some mini “internships” that lasted for 2 months. I have some work experience, working at SteinMart and a small processing company. I am now looking for research opportunities for the summer to see if that may help.

Right now, my goal is to get my GPA up. If I get all A’s this semester (best case scenario), I would be at a 3.60, but if I get one B, I would be around 3.56-3.58 ( I would have to recalculate this). My friend did the exact same thing, applying to liberal arts and natural science with a 3.56 GPA and got in, so he gives me hope of me getting in. I tried transferring last year, but my GPA was too low (3.39). What are my chances of being able to transfer to UT Austin? Thank you.
