<p>I am Hispanic/Latino in a High School, from Central NJ, with over 75% of the students being white or asian. My High School is ranked within the top 200 public High Schools in the US and is very well known by most colleges. </p>

<p>What are my chances to get into the Clark School of Engineering at UMDCP? I'm not sure what specific degree but I know I want to do engineering.</p>

<p>Ok I think if you can get your ACT to a 29 or 30 then you have a good shot of getting in. Do you have a good upward trend? Whats your unweighted?? Maryland has a (relatively) small population of hispanics and I think they would like a hispanic engineer. Wish you the best of luck!!</p>

<p>University of Maryland has gone up in standards recently. It’s now harder to get in. With your scores and such, I think you have a good chance getting in. The application is the same for the Engineering school, so you’re fine.</p>

<p>My unweighted GPA is 3.57. My weighted GPA freshman year was 3.84, sophomore year was 4.05, and junior year was 3.95. Also if you superscore my ACT I have a 29.</p>

<p>being hispanic helps, but your SAT is pretty low for cp, I would recommend taking it again. Also, cp doesn’t look at SAT II’s, even if you get all 800’s they don’t care. Your GPA and ec’s are good, but try to take the SAT one more time to boost your chances.</p>

<p>with your current SAT score, I would give you a 55% chance</p>

<p>You’ll probably need a 31-32 on the ACT. Your essays and recommendations are also some important factors that UMD considers so make sure that they are really good. You might also want to consider applying early action.</p>

<p>That^ is an absolutely ridiculous score for UMDCP. UMDCP will most likely take a URM OOS applicant at about a 1850/27-28 score. Your GPA is fine. Personally, with your current ACT score, I would be shocked if you got denied</p>
