So I’ve applied to SCAD for Winter 2016 and I’m hoping to hear back within the next week or two but gosh I’m so nervous.
I have a very low GPA at 1.6, because of very good reasons. Which I explained in my letter of explanation. Including being bedridden for a month from sepsis, undiagnosed PTSD and depression my first two years at cc. This is the porfolio I submitted http://share.pho.to/9uEkI and I also submitted everything from a resume to a statement of purpose.
Do I have any chance?
You are a transfer student, correct? Did you submit a couple of rec letters as well? That might help because at the very least it validates your explanation and confirms that you are now ready for a rigorous college program.
Love your portfolio, BTW.
Good luck to you!
Students with low GPAs but good portfolios may be accepted “conditionally” – meaning that your GPA must remain above a certain benchmark. If it falls below one quarter, you receive a warning. If it falls below a second time, you will most likely be expelled.
