hey I'm a senior in high school planning to do early decision to Vanderbilt in november because it is basically (at the risk of sounding stupid) my dream school. I was wondering if anyone had any input on my chances of getting accepted.

Your ECs and GPA/ACT scores are fantastic. I would be hard pressed to say that you wouldn’t get in. I’m going to assume you want to go into medicine and Vanderbilt has a good programme for that too. In fact, if your interested in medicine you should apply to the really competitive BS/MD programmes on offer in many American universities.

For example, Brown has a really good BS/MD programme

Best
A

thank you for your response!
I am (for the most part) interested in medicine/biological sciences, or something along those lines. I am very set on Vanderbilt after taking tours of a lot of different schools i found that it is the one for me, as long as I can get in during early decision. Thank you for your input, I appreciate it!

My S is a sophomore at Vandy…he did ED and had similar grades and testing scores. Good luck …know you are now waiting for an answer…and just wanted to offer some encouragement. If you have first quarter grades then have your guidance counselor send them …my S had numerous email exchanges with the area rep and it seemed to help. His decision didn’t come in the mail for days so he called (they tell you when you can on the web site) and asked …a very scary moment but the news was good! My S loves it and now works with admissions giving tours and info sessions…good luck
