What are my chances? I have received a C and three B's (but have reasons)...and my standardized test scores are crappy...but everything else is superb.

MIT is a reach. Loos at the other [Association of Independent Technological Universities: AITU](http://theaitu.org) schools. You can easily get into a number of them.

No one here knows you personally, so no one here can chance you. You should definitely apply. You have nothing to lose. And it’s awesome that you’ve been doing research and have a patent.

Your ACT numbers don’t add up to a 31. 34 34 27 33 equals 128 equals 32. Probabably a reach. Good luck.
