Chances of getting in?

gpa- 3.4 right now but first marking period definitely bumped it up
SAT- 1100/1600 or 1580/2400

Played football as a varsity player for two years. Won a science affair award at the state science fair. I have a publication for DNA clones. Lifeguard during the summer. Took decently hard courses. Did not have time for clubs because football took most of my time.

Your sat and GPA are both a little below average, which might come back to haunt you. My friend who really wants to go to UMASS has a 3.4 and similar SAT to you was told by a college fair rep that his chances were iffy. UMASS will probably be a slight reach.

I was told the same thing by an admission rep but my guidance counselor has told me that people with lower grades have been accepted. Quick question do you know if University of Vermont is harder to get into because I was deferred from their business school.

@ saidelma- My son with a 3.2 and a 1840 SAT was just admitted early action-

Admitted to the business school at Umass?

Eisenberg, nursing program, and engineering are tougher to get into than other programs.

is the GPA weighted or unweighted?
