Chances of getting in

Hi guys I’m kinda worried about getting in here so I’d appreciate some help.

gpa- 4.35/4.5

sat-2020

class rank- 1/105

Taken whatever honors and advanced placement classes possible.

Four years varsity soccer, baseball, and basketball
Varsity captain of baseball, soccer, and basketball senior year

Member of NHS

A good amount of community service, with road-side clean ups, blood drives, volunteer reffing, etc.

Sociology major

Please help here.

By the way, how important is getting an interview to the application process here?

your stats definitely place you in a position to get in, but, yes, an interview is an absolute MUST. over 90% of students on campus have had an interview (either on campus or alumni--doesn't make a difference)

I agree with poster #2. In addition, Bates fills a lot of the entering class ED (> 40%). Clearly one of those schools that likes you to show interest...

Thank you both. That definitely helps. I just looked it up and I need to call in by tomorrow to schedule an interview. So I'll have to get on top of that. Also piggybacking on the second poster, is that just early decision 1 or early decision in general? Because early decision 1 is tomorrow and i'll need a few more days to get my stuff ready...

They want to know you will accept a place in the class if accepted, so ED 2 is fine. Don't stress to rush your application.
