I am considering transferring from UNH to Smith College for fall '09. I am currently a freshman bio major with a 3.83 GPA and work at the dining halls 14 hrs a week. That is sort of it for my extra curricular activities. My high school ec's were a little better, ran xc and track, volunteered as a dog walker for the local animal shelter, was in a cultural immersion club senior year, and I worked at a CVS. Unfortunately my high school gpa was not that great and neither were my SAT scores. But I really like the fact that Smith is smaller and more challenging than UNH. Would somebody tell me how likely I am on getting in?

To be honest, I don't know what Smith looks for in transfer applicants. Have you considered calling admissions directly? Now would probably not be a good time as they're busy filling the class of 2013, but I'm sure admissions would be able to give you better info than any of us could.

Well, I don't really know anything about transfer admissions either, but I hope you get in.

I was at UNH last night to see Brand New (and will be coming back for the Guster show). I'm a fan of UNH, even though I wouldn't want to go there myself.
