Chances of getting into a nursing program in CA??

I am looking for a nursing program that would suit me because I know nursing is a competitive field to get into and I was wondering what it would take to get into a nursing program?

UC Weighted GPA: 4.1
Unweighted GPA: 3.6
Science courses: honors biology: B, honors chemistry: A, AP Physics 1: A, planning on taking AP Biology next year (senior year)
Other AP courses: Literature, US History, World History, Psychology, Calculus BC, Physics 1
SAT: 1300 (taken it once)
Extracurriculars:
-homeless shelter monthly
-animal shelter
-community service hours at my school
-sports team for 3 years (going on 4 next year and being captain of the team)

Choices for nursing programs:
UCLA
UC Davis
SFSU
CSULB
CSUF
UC Irvine
San Diego State

At which college(s) would I have a shot of getting accepted into their nursing program? Any information I should know about any of the listed colleges or any other suggestions? Thanks!

UCLA - Reach
UC Davis - Match (They don’t have a BSN program)
SFSU - Safety
CSULB - High Match (Very Impacted)
CSUF - Reach (Very Competitive/Small Program)
UC Irvine - Reach (Very Competitive/Small Program)
San Diego State - Reach (Very Competitive Program)

As I am sure you know, nursing becomes more and more competitive each year. This last admissions round the minimum EI needed for admission was 4550, but this number increases drastically each year. Your UW Gpa is a little on the low side and your SAT can be improved. Work hard this semester and you have a decent chance. Best of Luck

Like uclahopefull said, nursing programs are very competitive so it is hard to predict. You might also check out the program at CSUCI- Channel Islands. They have a fairly new program that is fairly highly ranked.

I would add University of San Francisco and Azusa Pacific since they both have a direct admit BSN program.

Mt Saint Mary’s (Los Angeles) also has direct admit BSN program in nursing.

I agree with everyone who has given advice. Nursing admission is very competitive. I would also consider looking out of state.
