Lol, I'm sorry I haven't been consistent with capitalization etc. and I don't talk all smart but no use to be so formal right? =)

how are your standardized test scores?

Well, as you know, Harvard is a ridiculously hard school to get into, but you seem like an interesting enough person and you do what you love doing, and schools like to see that (as long as it's not watching TV or something ;)). You don't really seem like the Harvard type though. My recommendation to you is to do well on your standardized tests (take at least 3 SAT IIs if not more) and don't be afraid to be yourself in your essays! Personal essays are always the most interesting ones for the adcoms to read!

By the way, I'd be interested to see your artwork if you wouldn't mind. Have you done any artwork with your school? AP Art might be a good idea if you haven't taken it already.

hmmm 3-5% chance. you are too diverse in your interests wihtout excelling in anything in particular. good luck at other schools!

rugby: cry but i am very interested in foreign relations. i've received two scholarship to study abroad, both 100% full and two national awards for international study abroard and language programs. is not that specific in interest enough? ='(

thank you so much gmman! =) I'm really looking for encouragement and you were so honest lol but I can see with doubt. sighs I can't take AP art due to the restrictions in the business program. However I would love to show you my art! I've been planning to post them onto deviantart.com but have not had the opportunity. I know I'm a bit too perky and seemingly lackadaisical but I am serious and somber when necessary. lol i guess.. i don't know. it's too hard to evaluate such things.. you're right..

I have not yet taken any standardized tests yet!

I honestly think that you have excelled in specific areas and have showed very specific interest in certain things, like art and international relations. Are you interested in business? The Huntsman Program at Penn might just be perfect for you (keep in mind I'm a bit biased ;))!

Hurry up and upload that art :p You can see my DA in the meanwhile, although it's not much (I never bother to upload anything either): http://shuka.deviantart.com

Get cracking on those standardized tests. It's always a good thing to start sooner than later so you can retake them if necessary

thank yoooooooooooou ^^ i'll be sure to take everything you said into consideration! you're in college already? - went to your deviantart site. lol no you're noooooooot. why are you biased then?

i loooooove the mouse and hand hahaha i see you have a very interesting sense of humor ^^ i haven't seen ur anime artwork, but you should try out for the tokyopop rsom contest! it's such a great thing to win and even if you don't =) it's sooo great to just have been through the process! gives you a real feel!

I got in ED to Penn :D Got rejected from Jerome Fisher :( but ended up getting into SEAS anyway! I really like Penn's joint degree programs

Take some standardized tests (Schedule during the summer and fall, work on improving your score between then so that you'll have a nice one to send off)... they are more and more important as you look into the top echelons. Again, make sure to study for them and do your best.

thank you for the tip!! =)

lol don't be sad!! you got accepted to awesome schools!! =) yay!!

Good essays can always make up for mediocre standardized testing though. Teacher recommendations, essays, and your interview are the only chances schools get to see what kind of person you are, so make sure your essay is personal and interesting

hmm.. everything seems so vague.. ! you're right though =) just try to stand out and make a good impression right?

Well, if there was a set formula for getting into college, then what would be the point :p They just need to know who you are as a person, so that they can make the most informed decision they can about you. If they decide to reject you because you are who you are, then you probably shouldn't be going to that school anyway. Just show them what a wonderful person you are (and I mean actually, be yourself)! btw, tell me when you get those pictures uploaded, I'm particularly interested in your RSoM entry, I was thinking of doing that myself, but then I got lazy..

^.^ You sound like bubbly person, yubi! :] Just apply and find out! That's what I'm doing. >/ Even though I'm not perfect.

does it make sense that you claim to not be very bright but then say Harvard is your dream school?

Au contraire, it’s not right for you to think that ivies are only interested in people who are “bright” in the context I was alluding to. I only meant bright on the academic scale. I do have to admit I don’t work amazingly hard academically because it is not part of my philosophy and I aspire to greater things. So please don’t make any judgments like that anymore, toward me at least. No one forced you to comment right? Please keep uncouth comments like that to yourself, at least, I don’t want to hear them, because they are not at all productive or considered friendly criticism.

in short: yes, i do believe that on other merits, there is a possibly i can be accepted to harvard college. but i am not confident so i would like some comments (not like yours though)

TO PUNKIE!!! ^^ Thank you so much for your support!! Lol it's people like us who believe, have faith, and aren't afraid of failure that will win out in the end =) mwahaha lol needs to check her optimism but yes! Let's keep working hard!! Good luck to you too!!!! =) Really really hope that you get in!

yay gmman!! hmm.. well i think i'm way too lazy to upload them -.- but if we exchange aim screennames or something i would gladly upload them to you! =) unfortunately i deleted my final editted versions, but i still have the "raw" form. DO DO DO DO LOL!!! Totaaaaaaally do enter for RSoM 2007!! their official website is www.tokyopop.com you can go straight to RSoM by www.tokyopop.com/rsom =) i think the winners for this year are still posted up.. or i'm not sure. for 2006 entires, they're announcing the winners on april 1st =) but if you take a look at them i think they'll help a lot once you start on your own!! lol it's an amazing journey my friend. =) btw!! have you ever been to an anicon? oh oh! lol and check out their manga online! it's really cool too ! =) lol we have sooooooo much to talk about! and i totally agree with about everything you said regarding ivies xP blaaaaaaaaah lol maybe i'll try out for ur school ;] lol!!

From what you've wrote and commented about other CCers, you have too much complacency and little tolerance for others' views.

I don't think harvard would like such a personality.

I don't really think complacency and little tolerance are the words to describe it, I think she's just a bit defensive. But when you've been working hard four years to get to where you are, wouldn't you be defensive too? I think most people on these threads get a little ticked when people start attacking them (or its perceived that people are attacking them)..

My advise: calm down, and focus on what you have to do to prepare yourself for your dream university. :)

Also, don't post your entire life story on CC. It's not a really good place to publicize these things when adcoms can also surf the web if they wanted to find out more about someone. :) :)

slim to none i'd say.

nothing too special about you, sorry.
