Chances of getting into any UC or CSU schools

I am currently a junior in high school and wondering what my chances are to get into UCI, UCR, UCSC, CSULB,CSUF, and others. I go to a really great High School and some courses here are like honors courses at other schools which is why we don't have many honors classes.
Stats:(I know they aren't spectacular, but I'm not trying to get into any ivies)
GPA's
Freshman: 3.6 unweighted
Soph: 3.8 unweighted
Junior: currently 4.2
I'm currently in AP US History, AP Environmental, and AP Psychology
I'm planning on taking AP Stats, AP Bio, and AP Art History next year
I'll also have 5 years of a foreign language by senior year

I did track and field for 2 years and am in 2 clubs (I'm really involved with these two and they are community service related/ involve a lot of participation) and I was in boy scouts for 8 years and am in the Spanish National Honors Society
I'm planning on volunteering at my local hospital this summer as well as taking a course at my local community college

I know my GPA is kinda low because freshman year i was a slacker(but I've changed A LOT) but i think it will be at least a 3.9 by senior year i think. I just want to get an honest opinion on what schools would accept me. I also want to be a biological sciences major. I'm really only looking to go to a Cal State or UC school.
Any tips to boost my chances are greatly appreciated

P.S. If race/ethnicity matters I'm Hispanic and African American

The good news for you is that UCs and most CSUs don’t heavily weigh your freshman GPA. If you post solid test scores 1900-2000 SAT and finish Jr year as planned, you’ve got a good shot at all the CSUs and all but the most selective UCs (UCB and UCLA).

Take the SAT or ACT soon. This will give you a better feel for where you stand - and give you time to improve your score.

Also, senior GPA doesn’t matter much. If you sign up for a challenging course load like you outline and get Bs or better across the board, you’ll be set.

For ECs, you are doing OK too. You note were a boy scout for many years. If you haven’t completed Eagle, you still have some time. That would be a good thing to have completed by the time you send in your ap.

Great work so far. Keep it up and I see a bright future for you.

Good luck.

I’d honestly recommend applying to some harder UCs, as well. The ones you’ve listed shouldn’t be too hard.

Even Davis, and SB, and Irvine seem feasible to me.

UCs dont count freshmen year grades. So keep a 3.8+ gpa and youll easily get into all of those schools. i’d even apply to ucla and berkeley if i were you

Thanks guys I appreciate your help! Also I have another question. Do the schools look more at your GPA or the classes you take? Because I feel like I’m taking good classes (AP’s) but my GPA doesn’t really reflect that. Also I don’t have any C’s and have two A’s in my AP classes.
Thanks for reading.

i’d say safety for the csus and match for the ucs

chance me back!

safety for the csus. UC’s don’t count freshman GPAs or senior GPAs.

RACE WILL NOT MATTER AT THE UC’S. The UC system banned affirmative action and quotas in the 90’s. On another note, assuming you can score at least a 2000, you will be a match for the UC. If it’s higher than 2100, I’d say you’d be a safety.
