I'm a junior in California and I got my first attempt SAT score this morning which puts things into perspective. I studied abroad for five years in a big city in a third world country, including freshmen and sophomore year so AP courses weren't available to me while I was there, nor was I able to take as many as I'd like junior year due to the fact that I didn't have recommendations from teachers in the district. Even getting into AP Eng Lang this year was a four month battle until I was bumped up.

Freshmen and Sophomore year I took about 11 classes each semester and got mostly As each semester, with 1 or 2 Bs each semester.

My gpa for junior year should be 3.9 unweighted and 4.1 weighted if I don't totally bomb the next two weeks. Also, I got tested for a foreign language by a department head at Berkeley (AP test and SAT 2 not available for the language) and got an A in a sixth semester language. My current SAT score is 2040.
