Chances of getting into Boston College?

Hello! So Boston College is definitely my number one choice of school, but I'm getting really nervous. I'm getting ready to start my senior year in high school and start applying to schools, so I was wondering if you guys could help me determine my chances of getting accepted into BC.

So here's some things about me:

-International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma candidate aka 7 IB classes (TOK; IB Sports, Exercise, and Health Science; IB Spanish; IB Math SL; IB English HL; IB History HL; and IB Biology HL).

-Grades: My grades stay pretty consistent with mostly A's, but unfortunately are sometimes subject to B's (curse you IB History...you will be the death of me).

-My GPA is 4.6 weighted.

-SAT/ACT Scores: So, I officially may be the worst standardized tester in the entire world. ACT was 27 and SAT 1700. I still have a little time to retake the SAT which I definitely plan on doing, but I hope these terrible scores don't completely ruin my chance of being accepted because right now they are my biggest concern.

-Clubs: National Honor Society, Beta Club, Juniorettes (service club), Mu Alpha Theta, Science National Honor Society, Spanish Club, and Gardening Club.
*AKA I have loads of community service hours.

-I hold executive positions in the Spanish and Gardening Club. I am the co-chair of the Gardening club which created a community garden which assists the local soup kitchen.

-Random: I'm not from a very affluent family in any way. So hoping that the whole 'has overcome obstacles' things works in my favor with admissions board.

Overall, everything about you is great. Your GPA, and the clubs that you’re involved in! However, the tests are the downside. If you could increase your ACT by 3-4 points, that would be enough for BC! If you get at least a 30, then it becomes a match!

Chance me back? : Chance me (I’ll Chance Back!!) JHU, GW, NYU, BU, UVA,UConn, Wake Forest, and Brown

I agree with @sergiok. Your GPA is amazing, you’re taking a rigorous schedule, and you have solid EC’s. I’d say you’re in, but if you really want to secure your spot, get your ACT to at least a 29.

Good luck! Chance me back please?

After looking at your gpa, I thought that BC should be a safety, but then i saw your test scores. They’re on the low side but your gpa/ec’s might make up for it.

As others have said before your GPA is great! Your ACT is a bit higher than your SAT score so I would focus on your ACT. Don’t give up and good luck!

I hope this doesn’t sound weird, but you and I are in the exact same situation. BC is my dream school as well, and we have the same test scores on both the SAT and ACT, great scores on AP/IB tests, and I have a 4.5 GPA. However, for some reason, CC tore me apart when I even mentioned the prospects of BC. Since the ACT is higher, I’m just focusing on that now and trying to raise it 3 more points which is doable, maybe you should do that too. Here’s hoping for both of us!

Don’t worry about your scores. I know a girl who got a 24 superscore on the ACT and a 1700 on the Sat but she had a few hooks.
