Chances of getting into Boston University? Jan 2021

Totally understand this is really annoying but this is the first time I’m posting on here. I’m genuinely wondering what y’all think.
I’m lowkey paranoid and worried that I won’t get into any other college besides the state schools I applied to (got half-ride scholarship though). I have zero issues going to my state school but I was just wondering what y’all think my chances are with these stats:
(By the way did not submit yet).

Applying for engineering
First gen
Weighted GPA: ~4.49
Unweighted GPA: ~3.7 even though my school does not calculate unweighted, just an estimate
SAT: Not submitting, never took it because of world events but PSAT was a 1220
APs: Physics, Psych, APUSH, Gov, Calc BC
Respective Scores: didn’t pass but whatever, 4, 3, TBD, TBD
All honors classes and DE w/state school - mainly A’s, 5 B’s and 1 C (Sophomore year was horrible)
Upward trend in grades and gpa if that matters at all
*Note - I took a lot of science electives
ECs:

  • Jrotc w/ many leadership positions, lots of community service, awards (I heard colleges don’t care about Jrotc but whatever)
  • STEM Club throughout HS
  • Language Club: Spanish and French
    Other misc. ECs

Not an interesting or stellar profile but just wondering. There are more ECs but my brain is dead lmao.

I think you have a decent chance of getting in, but no merit money. I think that you should think carefully about the cost of BU vs the cost to you of your in-state flagship U. It’s not as if, when you go to get your first job, they’re going to say, Ohhh, he went to BOSTON UNIVERSITY, rather than the state flagship U. They won’t. And after that first job, no one will care at all that you went to BU vs flagship state U, even vs state college - they’ll be hiring based on your employment record. So if you’re not a trust fund baby who’s already set for life, think very carefully about spending a lot more to go to BU.

That’s what I figured, at the end of the day I’d rather go to a school where I’ll pay less. Thanks!!
