Extracurriculars (what will be at end of snr yr):

  • National Honors Society: 2 years; maybe an officer
  • French Club: 5 years; 3 years as an officer
  • Cabinet: 4 years
  • Medical Careers Club: 3 years
  • 200 volunteering hours at COSI, which is a science center
  • 40 hours at Nationwide Children’s hospital
  • Only 10 hours so far at Ohio State University bio lab (will have way more)
  • Shadowed my local doctor
  • Will be shadowing a pharmacist
  • Field Hockey: 3 years; varsity: 1 year
  • Orchestra: all four years of high school and 4 years prior (total 8 years)</p>

<p>My D had lower ACT score than yours and was accepted.</p>

<p>Make sure you demonstrate interest. Boston University’s applicant pool becomes increasingly more selective each year - I believe their average SAT score for the 2014/2018 applicant pool was almost a 2100 - and the average rank was about 9%. I’d keep this in mind as it’s probably going to go up slightly next year when you’re applying. </p>

<p>Good match for you. My D was accepted with lower scores, grades, and ECs. She only went on a single tour and got in regular decision. It is one of her top 3 choices and she was even more impressed when she went there after she was admitted. </p>
